The Orange County Health Care Agency  reported three new deaths as of Saturday, July 4, increasing the total number of people in the county who have died from the coronavirus to 363.

Of the 363 deaths, 190 were listed as people in skilled nursing facilities and two were listed as homeless.

There were 413 new cases of the virus confirmed on Saturday. In the last three days, there have been 3,127 new cases reported.

The cumulative case total is now 16,191 since testing began in March. The seven-day average, from June 24, rose to 431 a day.

The county’s breakdown of deaths by age is as follows:

  • 85 and older: 32% (119)
  • 75-84: 27% (96)
  • 65-74: 18% (62)
  • 55-64: 12% (43)
  • 45-54: 9% (32)
  • 35-44: 2% (8)
  • 25-34: 1% (3)
  • 24 and younger: 0%

Data posted each day is preliminary and subject to change, officials emphasize. More information may become available as individual case investigations are completed.
