USC added to its Pac-12-leading recruiting class Friday with the addition of a local prospect.

Bishop Alemany offensive lineman Saia Mapakaitolo committed to the Trojans to start the weekend with a note on Twitter, thanking his family and coaches for helping him reach this moment.

“I want to thank my family for showing me what is real like my parents for teaching me always to be humble no matter what and for all the sacrifices they have done for me,” Mapakaitolo wrote.

A 6-foot-5, 280-pound prospect, Mapakaitolo is a three-star recruit, according to 247Sports.com’s composite rankings. He picked USC over offers from Oregon State, Utah and Washington State.

With 13 commits now in its 2021 class, USC remains ranked No. 1 in the Pac-12, according to 247Sports.com, and No. 5 nationally.
